 I always thought I would want to be a dentist when I grow up. A dentist helps maintain and improve the appearance and the health of the patients’ teeth. Dentists work in a private practice, most of the dentists work 7-8 hours a day and 5 days a week, but dentists in private practice can choose their own hours. Most Dentists only take about 10-20 days of for vacation. Dentist’s bills are paid directly by patients or their insurance companies. A dentist in a general practice can earn about $60,000 to 200,000 a year. The highest wages are generally earned about more than $300,000 a year. Salaried dentists usually receive benefits, such as health insurance, paid sick days, and retirement benefits. Self-employed dentists must provide their own benefits. To become a dentist you need to attend dental school, you need a bachelor’s degree. You have to take a 4-5 year course and need those years of practice. They need to take courses like Chemistry, Physics, Biology, Math, and English. You need to pass the exams set by national dental examining board.

I was born into a family of Doctors, Dentists, Lawyers, veterinarian, etc. I always knew I wanted to become just like my cousins and also just by looking at them I wanted to become a dentist and got more interested in this career. I think I’m suitable for this career because I’m really good at being patient, helpful, and most importantly you have to be stable with your hands and also need to communicate with your patient while their getting treated.  The only thing that concerns me about this career is that bad breathe and I know I might get a lot of patients like that, but otherwise I’m fine with everything else.
